okay lets start with National Service!!!!! well if there’s people out there who doesn’t know where i posted to, its Singapore Civil Defence Force. I’m loving every bit of it here even though i had to go through 6 grueling months for SCC. Nevertheless, we had fun and unforgettable events!
Whoever thinks that live in CD is easy can go kill yourself already. We’re preparing for everyday war and not some war that is least likely to happen. Fire, Road Traffic Accidents(RTA), Direct Fire Alarm(DFA), Rescue Incidents and also Operational Safety.
The job scope is not as narrow as you mind is, we deal with suicide incidents, oil spillage, Hazardous Materials(HAZMAT) and also Marine Firefighting. It really is an honorable job in my opinion to save lives and property.
Even if it doesn’t endanger someone’s life, it will make an impact on you somehow. An example, i did attend to an incident which involves a couple. The problem was that the wife’s ring was stuck onto her finger, she complained to her husband that she can barely feel the tip of her fingers. To add on, she was pregnant approx 4 months i guess. Her husband brought her over to our station thinking that we might be able to help her. To our surprise, her finger was already swollen so badly that the ring can’t even move. seeing her in that state where she had to bear all the pain and her husband not being able to do much besides consoling her really touches me. We did attempt to pull the ring out after icing her finger to ease the swelling but it is to no avail. Since we’re not able to do much, we decided to refer her to the hospital. I really hate it when i can’t do anything to help the couple since i was new. I have a whole lot of things to learn while i’m in station.
I was given the opportunity to crossover to Rota Commander Course. It is really tempting cause once you’re posted out you’ll be a lieutenant but after much considerations, weighing out the pros and cons, I’ve decided to decline the offer and remain in station as a Section Commander. The word ‘Commander’ sounds awesome doesn’t it? hahaha.
Okay next part of my life which has always been in my life for like 2 years and coming 3 months my one and only!<3
Thank you for going through this with me. Being in NS means a “Make or Break” situation. You’ve been tolerating all my nonsense and my “MEN”sus through out the course. withstanding the one minute plus calls and the early nights and also that one week SABAH trip which was awesome!!!! heh:) i missed you every single bit of my time in camp and now i appreciate you more!:)))<3 thank you for meeting me whenever i get my nights out which was like from 7pm-9.30pm. thank you Princess for doing all these for me:)))
my Love life with you have been great so far, as it is normal for us couples to have fights and arguments. but after all these, we came back stronger than before. you’ve taken good care of my family and also yourself while i was away in camps so now its my turn to take care of you since im on rota shift. 1day work 2 days off!:) total of 10 working days in a month!:) i’m gonna do whatever i can just to see that smile on your face.
